GLP-1 therapy can help with weight loss by making you feel full and reducing appetite. GLP-1 is a hormone that our bodies naturally produce. When we eat food, GLP-1 is released and tells our brains that we're full. With GLP-1 therapy, clinicians give you a medication called a GLP-1 agonist. This medication works like the natural GLP-1 in your body. It tells your brain that you're full even if you haven't eaten as much food. This can help you eat less and make healthier food choices. When you eat less and make healthier choices, you can lose weight over time.

Weight loss can vary among patients. Some notice weight loss right away, others can take one month or more. Consistency is important. Continue to take as directed, and your clinician will titrate your dose as needed to promote optimal weight loss tailored to your needs. On average, 1-2 pounds per week (or 6-8 pounds per month) of weight loss is typically considered safe. That said, individual targets may vary and should be discussed with your clinician.

Gastrointestinal (GI) side effects are most common when initiating GLP-1 therapy. Nausea, diarrhea, constipation, and lack of appetite are the most common. Your clinician may be able to prescribe medication and customize your GLP-1 formulation to help manage these side effects. Often, these side effects resolve over time.

Labs are not required for all patients, but are recommended and included in the cost of your treatment. Depending on health history and certain conditions, some patients will require labs to continue treatment.

Follow-up visits are not required for all patients, but are available if needed. Depending on health history and certain conditions, some patients will require follow-up visits to continue treatment.
All patients are required to fill out a Refill Form prior to each monthly billing cycle and medication shipment. This helps your clinician understand if your current dosage is right for you and gives you the opportunity to share any health changes, side effects, or medication preferences. You will receive this Refill Form via email.

After a clinician reviews your intake form and confirms you are eligible to receive your Woodwork medication, your order will ship within 2 business days after your prescription is approved. Your order will typically be delivered 2 - 5 days after it ships. Subsequent orders will be shipped within 2 business days of payment confirmation.

All patients have the opportunity to receive 1-on-1 virtual Care Coaching at no added cost. Most patients opt to meet with their Care Coach monthly, but you can choose a cadence that works with you. During these visits, your Care Coach will answer any medication questions, review any additional clinical requirements, and discuss topics like side effects, healthier eating, nutrition, stress, sleep, and lifestyle changes.
